WW2 Royal Navy Medal Group and Photos. Normandy and Cardiff Connection.

Purchased this little group from family members last weekend as a ''walk in''. Not much info other than the gent who owned the medals was a relative due to marriage. From what i can make out, im no detective mind, is that Walter Raymond Lee who live at 31 Kingsland road in Cardiff passed his navy training at Collingwood in 1943, there is a photo of a bunch of lads from HMS Frobisher and im sure i can spot him in there. His medal slip entitles him to the France and Germany star which would put him at Normandy, HMS Frobisher took part. Now his named 1944 diary has one of the Bangor class minesweepers in a diagram within the pages, having a penned ships number, this ship also took part during the Normandy invasion. Like i said im no detective but im sure any ''Sam Spade'' type out there will be able to do a lot more research than me. I doubt if any of the above makes sense folks so your buying a nice straight from the family grouping with potential research possibilities! Lastly i should mention that the medals brought in with the paperwork was mounted behind a glass frame, no Defence medal was found and his slip does not entitle him to it and it was not mounted on the bar!
