WW2 Territorial Efficiency Group. RE, Bomb Disposal. Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers.

Picked this little group up yesterday during a stint at my local flee market. I do find it interesting in that 1983052 CPL S.PARRY from Risca South Wales, served in the RMRE 101 company as attested by a letter to his widow from an Officer who commanded his unit. The 101 where thrown back into the sea at Dunkirk, 100 company where captured. 101 company in 1944 where part of the Normandy invasion and saw extensive action. He does have the France and Germany star and the early photo of Parry standing with his wife outside a house shows him wearing an early battle dress uniform with collar dogs! At least you can be certain that he was a member of bomb disposal at the end of the war looking at the super late war photo, Parry is one of the sergeants sat at front next to the officer. Group has his medals, couple of photos , the letter from his commanding officer with the rest being birth and death certificates, hardback book presented to him from his return from active service. Plenty of research possibilities im sure.
Right here's a coincidence!!! Please check the RMRE 43rd Wessex Battle Dress uniform i recently sold, item 62532. Now check the open necked BD that Parry is wearing in the large photo! Both items came out of the woodwork close to me and in separate deals but being locally purchased stranger things have happened folks! Or its just been my lucky month in obtaining Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers items.
