WW2 U.S. Army M1 Front Seam Swivel Bail Combat Helmet Shell.
This example appears to have been sat around a barn or shed for years with rust bleed showing through the remains of the cork finish still retained on the shell. This front seam example has no stress fractures and is in solid condition with just a couple of minor points of heavy surface rust, the larger area you can see on one side of the lid is a piece of paper stuck to the outside. The chinstrap appears to be its period fitted example. Perfect for a well battered liner if into relics or a perfect restoration project as most of the shell retains its cork finish. Cannot find the heat stamp inside but then again im not going ''digging'' for it.
