19th Century Spanish Navaja Folding Lock Knife.
Vintage antique folding knife with a one piece horn handle. The straight, just over 6 inch, blade is made from good quality steel with a top groove going half way down at the top; perhaps made from an old sword. Blade has staining and some minor pitting towards the tip without shortening as it fits perfectly into the groove of the handle. The top spring , again with staining, has been knocked at some point so the top hole does not align perfectly with the bar at the top of the blade, just takes a little push to the spring for it to lock. Going by one hole on the side of the handle it would appear that a metal moving slider was used to unlock the spring but now sadly gone. Overall length with the blade open is just over 13 inches. All in all a good antique example with a couple of issues and in need of some slight renovation if wishing.
