Named WW1 Trench Art Shell Case Ashtray. Charleroi Belgium. Iron Cross Motif.

1917 dated German shell case that has been turned into a WW1 souvenir ashtray with an iron cross motif, the name of the Belgium town ''Charleroi'' and the owners name. This example is quite crude in its manufacture with the inside bars i presume to hold a match striker or safe.
