WW2 German Helmet M31 Liner Leather.
A well used but complete and supple leather liner without its frame. As seen its taken on a dark color with its top edge even darker from use, its supple and with only minor damage only, one cut to the edge, purposely done for some reason and done some time ago going by the patina around the area. Turning the liner you can find the usual felt padding running around the bottom edge and all holes where the pins have been taken out. All but one tongues have there reinforcing disks. The only markings i can find are two small ink stamps with one very clear 37 and the other side what looks like a letter ''A''. Now i know for sure the 37 in not a size so perhaps a date? I have measured across the liner from front to back and i would suggest its approx 7 and 3/4's inch across. Going by the leather quality i would say this is quite an early produced item dating from pre war time. I may add that i think this would most probably fit a size 61 marked liner frame, well thats my guess.
