''OEG'' Red Dot Sight. Single Point.

One of the first red dot sights and made famous by the 1970's American special forces ''SON TAY'' prison raid in North Vietnam. Some great photos can be found on the net of these forces using the sight on there automatics! This is a non powered system with a glow orange prism illuminated by ambient light. When using both eyes need to be open, this gives the optical illusion of the dot on target, works well for me. Neat bit of kit and perfect for your vintage SOF display, reenacting or collection. Apparently these where used by British forces who purchased them privately . As for condition its used for sure with the red wording usually found painted over, registration stamps can be seen under the front mount. The end cap area has a faint scratched number including 1978. The front has the round plastic head as used by SF and not the coned version. As an added bonus if your a Star Wars nut these can be found on many of the weapons used in the movie from the 1970's.
