WW1 M1913 Remington Bayonet. American Property Over-Stamps.
Bayonet is in overall good condition with the 1917 dated blade having 100% of its dark grey finish and factory cutting edge with some grease remnants. One side of the blade has the M1913 designation with a date stamp 1917. The other side has a clear US stamp with the British marks being over stamped indication that this bayonet was kept for American use with the M1917 bayonet. Cross guard and pommel again with period finish with the cross guard having a slight coating of rust. Top fixing button works fine. Both wooden grips have dark patina with just a couple of minor knocks. The scabbard is strong and has tight stitching with both metal fittings having most of the black finish. All in all a good example that was found this week during a house clearance in Abergavenny with the German SG84/98 bayonet item number-62869.
NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY. PROOF OF AGE WILL BE REQUIRED.
