1943 Dated British Army Pole Climbing Leather Harness.

A rather strange yet interesting item is this heavy leather strap harness for climbing telegraph poles and trees. The shorter section with buckle would fit around the climbers waist whilst the larger section would be wrapped around the pole enabling the soldier with leg spurs to climb or stable himself shy of the the pole or tree leaving both hands free to work. One end section has a makers stamp with a very faint 1943 date. I would suggest the item is un-issued therefore in very nice condition. Perfect for an Invasion of Europe set up.
