WW2 Royal Naval, HMS Resource, Medal Group , Diary and Service Certificate. Cardiff.
William Jennings from Cardiff enlisted in 1943 and served on HMS Resource till the end of the war. Resource was a fleet repair ship that served in the Pacific from 1943. The box has Jennings details to the front under the staining and includes his four medal entitlement including the Pacific star and a Burma clasp. The diary included with the group has just a few pages filled with information mainly relating to the journey Jennings took from the UK to Alex in North Africa and his travel through the canal. Its interesting that the crew where not allowed to disembark at Suez due to the Plague! This little group i purchased off the daughter last week so is new to the market!
