WW2 British Players Cigarette Factory Senior Fireman's MK2 Helmet.
Outstanding and rare helmet as used by a senior fireman working at the John Players and Sons Factory in Radford Nottingham. The outside finish is close to 100% complete with some minor scrapes and the remains of stacking rings from having a helmet stored on top. This finish has an overall crazing effect from what I believe is storage in a warm climate. Around the entire helmet a red band has been added for use by a senior fireman. Of course the "money shot" is the virtually complete gold Players decal, part of the bottom letter "P" just on top of the red banding and little or no crazing underneath the complete wording, a nice sign to see in my opinion. The inside again with virtually all it's finish, helmet dated 1939 as is the early liner system. I have not cleaned the inside liner as seen in the photos, that's the way I like them. Comes complete with it's dirty period chinstrap.
