Heer Soldbuch. Motorised Infantry, Driver. Stomach Battalion.

Complete book with photo of the owner stapled to the front. It would appear this soldier was a part of Komp-replacement Battalion 6, with dogtag number 4730 surrendering 15/1/44 @and discharged 26/2/45 as part of the 276th infantry division. This book was issued in 1944 so I have no previous military info on this soldier. What I can gather is his many stomach problems most probably chronic gastritis and being transfered to a specialist "stomach" battalion also known by German soldiers as the "white bread unit" due to there special dietary needs. These soldiers where gathered together to form combat effective troops. His last unit being the 4th company of the 1208th special security battalion. There's enough info I'm sure for further research especial his last unit the 1208th.
