WW1 German "Dear Foot" Trench Knife.

Type of knife sent to the German front lines during WW1 by concerned family members, numerous adverts can be found advertising such in period papers of the time. This example is in good condition considering it's age. The blade is around 6 inches in length with its period tip and had a light sharpening to its cutting edge. It's stained from what I belive is a preserve such as geese or even bees wax. Top leather washer still present. Cross guard has turned a very dark brown as has the handles bottom shank, I've not tried to clean but can see period finish underneath. The dear foot retains most of it fur with a certain amount of wear from handling with its complete hoof. Handle and cross guard has some minimal movement. The leather scabbard is in nice supple condition with tight stitching. Itdoes look to date from the time but I doubt it's the period issued example, does the job perfectly though. Displays we'll folks!
NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY. PROOF OF AGE WILL BE REQUIRED.
