WW2 RAF Uniform Grouping, Vet Purchase
Small uniform grouping to a leading aircraft man who served in Iceland servicing Liberator bombers. Group consist of his RAF side cap, wartime dated and wartime service jacket. Cap is in very good condition no moth etc, the jacket has 3 or 4 small moth nips, nothing major. All insignia is original to the jacket. We also have his medals, War and Defence with medal slip showing entitlement, box is named to the vet. Some photos of the former owner in Iceland, one were he is wearing a RAF battledress with matching insignia found on his service dress, one postcard from early in the war sent to his mother. Some items were found in the pocket of the jacket, bus and naffi tickets , a pencil and the 1940 dated lable from this service jacket. Lable is the original from the jacket. I purchased this little group from the son of the vetran last year, After his mothers death the suitcase was found at the bottom of a cubord,he has written some info on the back of the photos. Lastly the suitcase is the vetrans original one, named lable the same as his medal box and postcard. This group is priced with the fact that the service dress lable has been found in the jacket pocket, my opinion is that its original to the group, there is no other reason for it being found in the pocket, a lable would have been of no concern to the son i purchased this grouping from.
British WW2 National Fire Service Helmet, 1938.
Very nice example of a wartime fire service helmet. The shell has had at least 2 coats of paint, the bottom layer being a black colour, then a green over coat for the fire service, the inner green is a silker colour than the outside so i belive a 3rd matt coat was added to the outer shell, or is this matt tone from wear and time. The super condition liner is dated 1938. Front decal is 98% complete.
Super Condition Named Intelligence Corps Officers
A very rare find being a very good example of a named Intellegence corps officers peaked cap, as mentioned in the title the condition is super, no damage to the body and just a small amount of service wear to the inside. Nice makers label to the inside crown and named twice to an officer C.H.CRAKER. The front has a very nice officers bronze cap badge and two nice matching side buttons. A very nice and rare cap.
