Hitler Youth Bicycle Pennant.
Small sized HJ flag usually described as a Bicycle pennant, this one measures 10.5 x 5.5 inches. The cloth pennant is of a multi piece construction and the colours are very strong, a couple of small stains, no rips, or moth. I have see/had photos in the past of HJ members flying such pennants from there bicycle fenders, just a pity i cannot show you an example.
WW2 British ''Welsh Regiment'' Side Cap. 1940.
Really nice condition WW2 British other ranks side cap to the W elsh Regiment, inside has a nice early date of 1940 and made by the Glasgow firm A&J.GELEER. The cap badge has toned nicley over the years and natch the two GS buttons perfectly. A very nice example of an early British cap.
WW2 Naval British MKII Helmet.
Grey painted MKII helmet thats in very good condition, the shell is dated 1939 but its hard to make anything else out due to the thick overpaint, the liner is in veru good but used condition and is a Vero made item and again dated 1939. The paint finish i belive is the sort of paint used on WW2 ships, its not modern gloss!!! The top fastening screw was painted seperatly and the inner fastening nut is nicely toned from age and not been moved in years. Im afraid no chinstrap. Original naval MkII do not turn up that often. Diffrent colour stripes on the helmet photos are from sunlight only just to clarify.
ATS Officers Service Dress Cap
WW2 ATS Officers cap thats in very good condition, has a bronze officers cap badge to the front and two bronze officers buttons to the side. The inside has the makers lable to ''Austin Reed'' of Regent street. Condition of the cap as mentioned is very good, one small moth nip to the inside neck flap only, the inside liner is a bit grubby from being worn, expected but its not frayed or sun damaged. This cap should not get confused with an up-graded other ranks model, its made from an officers service dress type material.
WW2 Captains Merchant Navy Cap
Scarce WW2 peaked cap for a captain in the merchant navy. The cap is in perfect condition exept for one snag on the insignia banding which you can see in the photos, other than that there is no moth tracking or holes, peak bullion has toned but has no damage. The inside sweat band has little wear , its a size 7.
WW2 Canadian ''B'' Type Flying Helmet
Good solid example of the Canadian B tpe flying helmet, this item has been used but the condition is very good, it has no damage, all straps ,zips and poppers complete and in working order. Zips are marked Lightning, Canada. No other marking that i can find, no size mark but i would say a medium.
WW2 Merchant Navy Petty Officer Service Cap
Good example Petty Officers cap for the Merchant Navy, this one has good shape and in V.good condition, it has service wear but no moth tracking or holes. Sweat band has sweat staining and has come loose from a small area at the front, expected really from use. Has a paper size lable, size 7. Sweat band also marked '' Real Calf Leather''. Good makers/outfitters lable printed to the inside crown, cant quite make out the name, looks like ''Grifeson''.
WW1 Memorial Plaque with Sleeve and Letter, Welsh
Very nice memorial plaque to a British soldier killed during WW1, this one is still contained in its cream paper sleeve and the condolance message with its original brown cardboard outer sleeve. Condition of the ''death penny'' as expected being in its packaging is perfect as are the other items. The name according to the CWGC has four casualties, one being a Cardiff born man who died in 1918, a member of the Welsh Regiment, i belive that this must be the man named on the penny as this item came from a house clearence last week in the Cardiff area. This item has never been in a collection before.
