This example has had a bit of a hard time, the HJ diamond has lost some of its enamel and just the minimal of cracking to the egg shell enamel under the right side wing and to the top under the top letters. The rest of the front has sharp detail and nice period factory finish. The back has lost its fixing pin but the hinge is fine as is the bottom catch. Stunning example with close to 100% of its fire gilt finish to the wreath, swastika and bottom ribbons have a nice burnished finish. The darkened battleship has close to 100% finish, slight rubbing to the high points. The rear has its period hardware , block hinge, pin, flatwire catch and makers details are crisp and clear. 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class Screw Back, Schinkel Form.
A very nice example vaulted cross with the copper coated core having close to 95% of its factory finish, some rubbing to the swastika and lover numbers. This finish will clean up even better with a slight wipe with a cotton bud as i have not cleaned since purchasing. The frame has again close to 95% finish with some rubbing to the frame tips. A very nice early Imperial Iron Cross made by the firm SW and covered in lots of lovely patina, well lets just say its not been cleaned for a very long time. The sand cast core has two cracks and very nice finish. Frame is tight and the rear has its period hardware. read more

In very nice condition with most of its period finish intact, plenty of patina to one side, have not tried to clean. The other side has again close to 100% of its silver finish. Good length of period ribbon and a period eagle device pinned through. read more
