According to the medal cert and letter from the medal office the War medal was her only entitlement. Recipient Mrs Williams was from Barry Island in South Wales. read more
French 1866 Pat Chassepot Bayonet, Matching Numbers, St Etienne.
A 1874 dated third republic manufactured 1866 bayonet that's in good condition, the blade is stained and has numerous slight knocks to the blade edge, top tag with markings to both sides. The brass hilt has a working fixing spring, the cross guard has a matched number to the scabbard being G77925 and the quillion has numerous stamps. WW2 German Fireman Feuerschutzepolizei Uniform.
The jacket is in very nice condition, all buttons present as are both neck hooks. The material has perfect nap and i cannot find a moth track or nip. Inside lining is very clean , cannot find any label or the remains of such. All insigina is period to the jacket including the arm eagle. A very nice wartime, 1942 dated, hardback publication on the RAF with sketches of the artwork of W.Rothenstein . Sketches are all flying officers and aircrew and the heads of the RAF at the time. WW1 5th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders Glengarry.
For a cap of its age it has survived in good condition with a number of moth nips to the body and the leather bottom trim just starting to loose its top finish. Webley Open Top Leather Pistol Holster.
A nice example with supple leather and tight stitching, the only marking is a number code, 078, followed by a broad arrow. Treat and polish will bring this back to perfect condition. Open top holsters can be seen in period photographs being used during WW1 by machine gun crews, RFC and Military Police. read more
