Large sized uniform named to a Major serving in the ROAC. WW2 Naval Casualty Medal Group. SS Ashrcrest. Cardiff Lad, Grangetown.
This little group recently turned up during a local Cardiff house clearance belonging to Henry Longhurst who was lost when the ship he served on,SS Ashcrest, was sunk in 1940 by U-140. WW1 Naval Casualty Victory Medal. HMS Natal.
A very clean example, sorry no ribbon,belonging to a M-8396, E.Barker, Royal Navy. HMS Natal was an warrior class armoured cruiser that sunk in 1915 near Cromarty due to an internal explosion. More than 390 crew and civilians perished. Medal is new to the market as it came out of a Cardiff house clearance recently. read more
Imperial German Prussian Tellermutzen Sewing Box.
A rather sweet sewing box in the shape of an Imperial German tellermutzen. Condition is very nice with no moth nips or tracking to the material and both cockades have 100% finish.The padded top i presume would act as the pin cushion. WW2 RAF Pilots Wings. Attributed- Flt/Lt Peter Powell, Bomber Command.
Purchased this very nice padded pilots wing from a friend who knew and received these wings from Flt/Lt Peter Powell, a friend of his father who also served in Bomber Command during WW2. Apparently Powell was a Londoner who retired and died in the Pontypridd area. The wings are well padded, uniform removed and with plenty of dark patina just as expected from a set worn on his flying uniform. read more
