Scarce Brecon A.F.S. Overalls Cloth Patch.
Not sure you might find another of these for some time as Brecon must have had a small AFS section to say the least. This example appears to be hand embroidered on the type of material used for work overalls. Condition is very good with the remains of the cotton when it was removed from the uniform. read more

Bevington was posted as a gunner to the 2st AA Bty C.A.B. in 1939 ending up in North Africa in 1940. It would appear he deserted at least twice being demoted once and was in Hospital on numerous occasions with Anxiety and neurosis. This nice grouping i purchased from the grand daughters of W.Bawden this week. The WW1 trio with boxed defence medal and Police S.C. medal belonged to the mothers side of the family and are named to driver O.C.Jeines, RFA who was from the Bridgend area. WW1 French Adrian Steel Helmet with 1914-18 Combatants Brass Plate.
A very nice example with the shell free from any dents and over 95% of its period greenish hue paint over the blue factory finish including the front helmet plate. Later on the veteran was allowed to add the ''Soldat De La Grande Guerre'' brass plate to the front peak.
