This example is, may i say, in lovely condition with the sawback removed blade having bright finish with no staining and clear makers details to one side and the spine with a clear 1916 inspection stamp. Shell has had a very thick brush painted coat of paint with a some sort of white insignia to the front. Ive had this one for years and have never found out what use this lid might have been used for. The original grey factory finish and makers marks with date can be found to the inside. I can tell you that this was found years ago in the Koblenz area of German during a house clearance.
