Large Photo.1905, 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers. Tsingtau Expedition Link.

Nice detailed photo of the 2nd Bat, SWB, cross country winners. All the soldiers are named and from my little research ive found two who served in China in 1914 when the Battalion fought taking a German port. Named is Corpl Payne, there is a sergeant Paye who was killed during the action and Pte Meredith who was wounded in China. Time frame and rank would suggest it is the fellows in the photo.... read more

Small hand painted wooden figure of a local Lithuanian child. To the bottom can be found the remains of a paper label. During the occupation of Wilna by the Germans during WW1 a factory was set up to help local children in need to produce certain items such as toys.
