Greek contract Gras bayonet made by the firm Steyer . Condition is very good with the bright blade having minimal staining with just one area of minor water staining to the tip. The top of the ''T'' bar has the legend ''Waffenfabrik Steyer 1881'' as expected for the Greek contract. A very nice example with the blade retaining over 70% of its factory parkerized finish and clear makers details. The leather washer handle is tight with no shrinkage or dry rings. Both pommel and cross guard have a very nice amount of period finish. The leather scabbard has tight stitching and supple body with a complete and usable top strap. In very nice condition with the 5.5. inch unmarked blade having some staining and the slightest patch of water damage to one side. The cross guard is complete and without pitting. Both wooden grips are in fine condition turning a dark brown from patina. The metal scabbard is without dents and retains around 80% of its period black finish. In nice used and untouched condition with the blade having some staining , no pitting and some minor splatter from house paint. The wooden handles that fit around the tang are in nice condition with the owners initials, ''JD'' cut into the top on one side.
