1943 Dated RAF Battle Dress Blouse, Sergeant.

1943 Dated RAF Battle Dress Blouse, Sergeant.

This example is in good condition with some wear to the nap and moth nips to the front, material is still strong. Label is 1943 dated and its a size 9. To me it looks like an single wing has been removed from the front above the pocket, air gunner, radio operator etc. Nice addition is the way this person been promoted from a lance corpral with the addition of corpals stripes making him a sergeant. A sound displayed item. Worthy of addint the wings back.

British RA Madagascar Uniform Grouping.

British RA Madagascar Uniform Grouping.

Group has a wartime manufactured KD jacket which in my opinion was African produced item, hand stitched button holes etc, its also quite nice to find one with the large spine panel to the back, a precaution taken during the time against sunstroke. Kacket is in used condition with some storage marks; all buttons are RA marked. The Slouch hat is dated 1941 and an Australian made item, condition is very good. Paper work has the vets paybook, front page gone, he joined in 1940, and was a telephonist. He was trained in Swahili which would be usefull in madagascar, there is a 1943 dated madagascar news paper and some french francs, aslo included are some documents for travelling back to the UK dated 1945. Two photos of a section of soldiers marching on parade wearing slouch hats and short sleeve KD's, im pressuming he is one of the fellas in the photos. A good group from the east African vetran. Ibelive he was part of a costal artillery unit.

WW2 British Khaki Drill, DRAB , Naval Ratings ''Ac

Something that does not turn up everyday is this pair of naval trousers in a Mediteranian, drab , colour. Its such a pity that the label has washed our, good clear WD mark to the inside. You can see such naval trousers being worn in wartime films on naval action in the Med. Condition is very good, no moth or tracking, no staining. Medium in size.

Super Indian made military Kukri with numerous detailed stamping to the blade, The blade is in very nice condition with some age staining but no over sharpening or chips. Wooden handle, again in very nice condition. The leather scabbard is in super condition with Indian stamping to one side, scabbard has some staining from age but no damage, Brass tip is again marked, combat type frog is once again in super condition for its age with no damage . The 42 under the date 1917 may indicate being reused for the later conflict. A super example and its original!!.

WW2 Chindit Clip Point Bowie Dagger.

WW2 Chindit Clip Point Bowie Dagger.

A rare example thats survived in very nice condition. The horn handle has only one small chip , no other damage, the blade has not been sharpened but is slightly dirty, ive not tried but looks as if some warm soapy water would work well, lots of the dirt does appear to be old grease. The steel oval cross guard again in good order, dagger is unmarked. The leather scabbard is in very nice condition with the only damage being to lose from the tip of the clouser strap, again its unmarked. Even with the rough workmanship to the horn handle, Indian manufacture, the blade would be of no suprise made and exported by the UK, again the scabbard looks imported due to the workmaship, perhaps Australian. This example has not been in a collection before and is a rare find.

1907 Hooked Quillion Bayonet, Wiltshire Regiment.

1907 Hooked Quillion Bayonet, Wiltshire Regiment.

Double marked bayonet that was issued firstly to the Royal Irish Regiment then re-issued to the Wiltshire's. The overall condition is good, the blade has had some water damage from storage which has been cleaned in the past, blade edge is good with no chips etc, tip again in nice condition, markings to both sides of the blade are clear. The regimental stampings are clear and strong to the pommel, some minor pitting , wooden handles have some bruising , again these appear to have been cleaned. The scabbard is the early type with steel button bottom, no chape. Its marked and dated 08 and is the original to this bayonet as it has both reimental numbers to the top of the throat. So we have a used condition bayonet thats still in a nice collectable condition with the added bonus of matching numbered scabbard. Priced accordingly.
