Relic Russian helmet shell with some of its rough thick finish remaining, to the top is a punched hole, perhaps used as a grave marker or battle damage? Shell has a serial number stamped to the inner front. Brought back from Afghanistan a number of years back. read more

Found this at a local flee market last week and id say its a ''parts'' set. The box i would date at least to the WW1 period if not before, its had a lot of use even having a period repair along the back hinge area, lots of use has again made the repair fragile. Nice detailed photo of the 2nd Bat, SWB, cross country winners. All the soldiers are named and from my little research ive found two who served in China in 1914 when the Battalion fought taking a German port. Named is Corpl Payne, there is a sergeant Paye who was killed during the action and Pte Meredith who was wounded in China. Time frame and rank would suggest it is the fellows in the photo.... read more
