WW2 British E.W.R. Homefront Steel Helmet. 1939.
The shell retains over 90% of its black factory finish, some minor surface rust bleed spotting. The front hand painted EWR letters are complete with a certain amount of wear, this wear has revealed the pencil marks that outlined the letters before the white paint application, nice touch in my opinion. Top nut has no evidence of tampering. Inside shell close to 100% of its factory paint. The li... read more

WW2 German Reissued M16 Combat Helmet.
This WW1 helmet was repurposed during the late 30's by the German military with the addition of an early, pre-war, double banded liner system. The shell at some point later than 1939, matching date on the three untampered liner pins, received a thick coat of rough flat grey finish, grit can be seen in the paint to the outside shell. This photo was cut from a larger image as the German family who's relative this was didnt want the image to be shared with the Russian dead that surrounded this soldier. SA Tinne/ Event Badge. Wehrwettkampfe Dortmund, 1938.
These examples do not turn up with such good finish usually , paint wear being a factor. This example id say has close to 100% of the paint remaining to the design. The rear has its period fixing pin and makers details. This one has a slight kink to the body, dont forget its plastic and might well have been bent during production. read more
