HMS Crane Souvenir Wooden Box.
Nice wooden hand made box measuring 8x5x3 inches with a very nice hand rendered image of the HMS Crane motif in pexiglass. HMS Crane was a modified Black Swan Sloop launched in 1942, commissioned in 42. Performed convoy escort roles in the Atlantic before supporting the Normandy landings and finaly service with the pacific fleet during the battle of Okinawa. WW1 RFA Grouping.
Small group of items that came together and apparently belonged to first class Bombardier William Braithwaite who was born in 1895 and served from 1915 till 19 spending the first two years in India. His initials can be found scratched into the combination knife and spoon, fork missing. Here we have an excellent badge produced for an event held in Elmshorn in 35 by the DJ. So not only is it a DJ tinnie but a great design and im going to say has over 90% of its silver finish intact. Rear has its period fixing pin. read more
Scarce 1942 Dated British ''Suits Combination Tropical''
This one has had plenty of service during its life with one 6 inch section along the middle seam being ripped, would take a little TLC to put it right for display. These combination suits where used mainly by RAF personal but as seen this example has hand stitched Army insignia, i could have taken them off but decided i would leave as i found it. WW2 British Officers Visor Cap.
A very nice clean example worn by an officer in the RASC. No moth nips or tracking and very nice nap to the material. Front officers bronze cap badge appears to have not been removed and the caps original example as are both bronze type side buttons. The inside has some service wear as seen on the photos with a complete and stitched leather sweat band. read more
