WW2 German Iron Cross 2nd Class. MM52, Gottleib and Wagner.

This example has close to 100% of its factory finish to the front and back of the iron center. The tight two piece frame has some dark patina, beading is sharp. The ring has a very clear 52 number stamp indicating production by the G&W firm. This has all the appearance of being very ''sleepy'' with the mat patina to the core, frame and even the longer than usual period ribbon. Im going to leave ...  read more

Huge Royal Navy, Petty Officer,1913-1942, Document and Photo Archive.. KIA 1943.

There are way too many documents and photos here folks for me to even contemplate and list here. Ted Percy first ship was the Impregnable , as a boy, in 1913 serving on a number of ships and Naval stations throughout WW1 and then into the 20's and 30's up until 1937 when his Service Cert mentions ''pensioned''. In 1938 he was mobilised once again serving on a number of shore establishments in ...  read more

1942 Dated Sniper Spotting Scope Tripod, Attributed Northumberland Fusiliers.

1942 Dated Sniper Spotting Scope Tripod, Attributed Northumberland Fusiliers.

The scope is in nice condition with most of its period army green finish intact, of course there are a number of scratches to the finish as would be expected and the removal of the finish where the date was found. Please expect some slight rust bleed with the hole item covered in oil and grease. All legs and tightening screws work smoothly. There can be found around the date a number of stamps ...  read more

WW2 German Propeller Tip Memorial Frame with Death Card.

WW2 German Propeller Tip Memorial Frame with Death Card.

Nice memorial frame made from what appears to be the tip of an aircraft propeller. Condition is very good with nice finish and clear glass. The back has had the original wooden door replaced with a modernish piece of wood. Found inside is a June 18th, 1944 dated, death card to an NCO in a flak unit, perhaps killed during the June 18th American B-17 raids on the Hamburg oil refineries. Frame mea...  read more

WW2 Modified Polish Airforce Metal Cap Badge.

WW2 Modified Polish Airforce Metal Cap Badge.

Not sure in which country this badge was produced but at some point, either 1945 or later the crown on top of the birds head was purposely snapped off, its quite clear under a good loop. Both rear fixing prongs are present. Considering the smaller size against and officers badge i would suggest this cap badge would have been worn on a side cap.  read more

WW2 German Deutsches Einheits Familien Stammbuch. Family Tree Book, Austria, 1939.

In nice condition with some minor color fade to the outside of the hardback cover. Inside is complete and clean, minor foxing. This example has only two pages filled so they either got patriotic, 9th of November! Or perhaps realized ''what the hell''!  read more

WW2 U.S. Army M1 Front Seam Swivel Bail Combat Helmet Shell.

WW2 U.S. Army M1 Front Seam Swivel Bail Combat Helmet Shell.

This example appears to have been sat around a barn or shed for years with rust bleed showing through the remains of the cork finish still retained on the shell. This front seam example has no stress fractures and is in solid condition with just a couple of minor points of heavy surface rust, the larger area you can see on one side of the lid is a piece of paper stuck to the outside. The chinst...  read more

WW2 Territorial Efficiency Group. RE, Bomb Disposal. Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers.

Picked this little group up yesterday during a stint at my local flee market. I do find it interesting in that 1983052 CPL S.PARRY from Risca South Wales, served in the RMRE 101 company as attested by a letter to his widow from an Officer who commanded his unit. The 101 where thrown back into the sea at Dunkirk, 100 company where captured. 101 company in 1944 where part of the Normandy invasion...  read more

A neat collection box used by Northampton hospital to collect funds for the construction of war memorial. iI would rate the condition as nice with the expected storage marks and a written date of 1948 on the back that opens to take the donations out. Its a piece of British post war social history for sure, notice the amount of £250,000 needed , thats one hell of a lot of money in any terms!  read more
