Boxed First Class Iron Cross. MM/L54. Schaueret & Hohfeld.
The cross is in nice condition with close to 95% of its period factory finish to the iron center. The two piece frame is tight. The rear has its period hardware and there is a clear sharp L54 stamp just under the bottom catch. WW2 British Police Steel Helmet.
The shell retains over 85% of its period factory finish, front ''Police'' stencil is 100% complete. There are a couple of black marks from helmet stacking. Top nut appears never to have been tampered with. The inside finish is close to 100% with the liner complete and supple enough, its maker marked, dated 1940 and a size 7. M40 Single Decal Army Helmet. EF64.
A good example of the basic single decal Army helmet made by the firm EF. The rough factory finish has seen a good amount of use with close to 90% remaining with the rest turning that dark, close to the paint, finish from age and patina.
