WW1 9th Scottish Division Solingen Souvenir Cut Th
Very nice Souvenir from the occupation forces in Germany at the end of WW1, blade has a gold inscription to a T, Somerville 6th,Ko B5, 9th Sottish Div , souvenir from Soligen, Germany. The razor itself is in very nice condition with some very slight staining, its very, very , very sharp!!!! The melamine handle is in perfect condition. Storage box again in very nice condition. It would appear this razor was made for the Australian market before the war but the stocks were re-used post WW1 to sell to the occupation forces. Sweet item!
Argentinian Combat Helmet, Falklands Bring Back.
A very nice Argentine combat helmet brought back from the Falklands conflict by a serving member of the British forces. The camouflage cover is a field made item as seen by the button hole to the top, its in good bright colours with some wear to the fabric, colour is stronger to the inside were its been hidden from the sun light. The shell appears to have good finish but i have not removed the cover from the helmet itself, its a rear seam American M1, the liner is an Argentine composite example, its in good all round condition with its leather sweat band and neck nape strap. The chinstrap is complete with both ends kept under the rubber band, ive not removed these as this is the way i found it. Found inside is a label which states the lid was found on Two Sisters in a trench. The goggles came with the helmet, there in good used condition and have an Argentine makers details to the front.
Luxemburg M26 Police Adrian Helmet.
Here's quite a scarce helmet thats in very nice condition, id say its factory paint finish, dark blue/black,is 99% complete inside and out. The silver coloured front emblem has no damage. The inside liner is complete and in supple condition as is the very clean leather chinstrap.
British Operational Combat Helmet and Tactical Sco
Now this one has a lot going for it as this soldier wanted to look his best. The camo cover is a private tailored example, perhaps one of those RV3 ones made in Brecon, anyway it has lots of extras including velcro patches stitched to the material , extra loops and cloth fixing straps to attatche the cover securely to the lid. The scope mount has beem camouflaged in what i can only call ''Leopard'' pattern so with the added scrip this looks a treat. The inside is complete with nice liner, good webbed strapping and to finish it off a rear metal ring for hanging off the belt. A well ''guccied'' example.
RAF Malaya, Jet Fighters Log Books and Paperwork G
A very nice grouping to a SGT/PLT Millington who served during WW2 as an engine fitter who then went on to become a pilot flying various fighter planes including Mosquito,Hornets,Meteors, Venom and Vampires. Millington served in Squadron 45, Tengah during the conflict in Malaya and Borneo and also in 80 squadron Kai tak. The group has his two flying log books that are full with all his service recorded, no missing pages, lots of other various papers found inside, also part of the grouping is his Service paybook, condition is good but falling apart, found inside are various papers related to his service, his certificate of service and his RAF ID card with photo and having his rank as squadron leader. A couple of large RAF maps of Britain, large photo group in front of a jet fighter, medical card and two squadron patches, 125 and 80. Anyway its a very nice and quite complete record of an RAF pilot who worked his way up to be a pilot in early jet fighters.
British Para Helmet Conversion, MK7 Liner System.
It turns out that this has helmet has the body of the light weight para helmet with a liner system from a MK7 lid added. It would appear to have been used at some point with velcro pads to the outside and the camo spray finish as found on many Brit lids. Its still a bit of a mystery but i purchased this from a serving soldier who told me that they are popular with serving soldiers as the weight is a lot litter that there issued helmets and with camo covers they cannot be identified as such, para lids are not balistic enough for front line duty.
WW1 Iron Cross ''Memory'' Box.
Box measures around 5x3 inches across the top, condition is good with some minor staining and scuffs to the finish, the lid is still secured to the top with its cloth hinge intact. The nice thing about this box is the metal ,tin, iron cross secured to the front with its cloth ribbon attatched to the ring. I would say its the size of a period original.
Imperial German M1917 Gasmask.
Condition is good and complete except one small length of back tie. The boddy is supple, both eyes are complete as all straps are, no holes to the filter, bottom of the filter comes adrift whith a little knock only. This and much of the Imperial selection ive just added came from the same Belgium source recently apparently from a farmers barn.
