1936 Reichsparteitag Nurnberg Hardback Photo Book.
Souvenir photo book of the 1936 event held in Nurnberg, its in good allround condition, some damage to the spine but its complete and not falling apart. Inside has numerous large detailed photo plates of the groups and personalities taking part and the surrounding area inside Nurnberg. This book would appear to have been held in a libary during the period.
Boxed Olympic Medal .
The box is in good condition, its lost its bottom press stud but box still closes tight as the inner catch is still present, inside is in fine condition with the cloth hinge intact. The medal has all of its finish, some minor spotting, the period ribbon still has its fixing pin.
WW2 German Medal Bar of Three.
The complete set is in very nice condition with the three medals having nearly all there period factory finish, there is even a small amount of frosting to the iron cross and its a super looking piece. The ribbons are very bright and the back felt has no damage, nice strong working pin.
Imperial / German Medal Bar with Romanian Order of
A lovely condition bar of two to a WW1 veteran. The iron cross has all its factory finish to the iron centre and the outer edge has taken on a near black finish from patination. The Romanian order is just a great looking award with no damage to the very red and white enamel, front and back, again the surrounding metalwork has dark patina. Both ribbons are in bright and undamaged condition. The rear felt backng is without damage and the fixing pin is in working condition. With this set is the original box for the Romanian order, quite a scarse find, complete and in very nice condition. The ribbon bar has the added Hindenburg cross, awarded after this bar was mounted, extra length of period Iron cross ribbon was found in the box. The age of the mounted pair would probably date from the late 1920's early 30's as its mounted without the Hindy Cross and the Romainian order is the civil type dating before 1932 . Its been mentioned to me that the owner might well have been a diplomat if you put the above all together. Anyway its a super grouping.
Boxed War Merit Cross with Swords, MM L/15, Otto S
Box is complete with the rear cloth seam intact, so the lid is still attatched to the box, small knock to one corner, top of the lid has some wear from storage. The zink made badge has around 70% of its original finish to the front and around 40% to the rear. The rear hardwear, catch and pin ,are in nice condition with the pin having a clear makers number stamped to it, L15, for the firm Schickle.
Mint Boxed German Pilots Badge, GWL.
Is this a mint award? Well im not sure this could be upraded! The medal has nearly all its flat silver wash to the wreath and its burnished highlights, the eagle has that GWL dark brown finish with some burnishing showing the gold underneath. The back has a very nice clear makers mark and the original period hardware. The box again in super condition which i belive is a mid war example. Brought in last week by the niece of the British veteran who brought it back after the war, she had four uncles in the forces during WW2 so could not give details of which uncle brought it back.
German Cross , MM 21, Godet, Post War Use.
Well here is one that without being modified would be well in the four figure sum being a Godet produced award, this one at some point had the swastika removed and two crossed swords added so he could wear it after the war, perhaps a POW modification. The disc behind the hand made swords has been hand etched with a sunray effect, the swords as mentioned been hand cut and added, the holes were the enamel swastika was held were filled in before the etching. The rest of the medal is as it was when first produced, clear number 21 to the pin, i belive this is a heavy version. The back has some sort of lettering scratched into the metal but i have no idea what it might mean.
Luftwaffen Pilots Badge, FLL.
Unmarked pilots badge that has gone thru repair at one point. The wreath and eagle are produced by the firm FLL, the eagle has the hand cut wings to the left as expected by this producer, the rear hinge and catch are as expected from FLL. The pin i have been told is a replacement and of course the pins holding the eagle too the wreath have not been ''pinned'' over as expected, so these might well have been replaced to add to the wreath. Im pricing this one accordingly with the above mentioned oddities. We all know the price for a perfect one!
