1939 Dated MK2 Army Helmet with Rough Brown Finish.

1939 Dated MK2 Army Helmet with Rough Brown Finish.

A very nice early combat helmet with close to 100% of its period brown rough finish to the outside, no dents or knocks. The inside has its period early 1939 liner with round top pad, its complete and supple. The inside crown area under the liner has an earlier light smooth brown finish, cannot find any markings to the helmet. Comes with its period later war chinstrap. WW2 U.S. 894th Tank Destroyer Battalion Silver Bracelet.

A very nice personal item that once belonged to a member of the 894th TDB. This i purchased yesterday saving it from a dealers silver scrap pile on its way to be melted, cant let that happen folks. You can just see to the back the silver test mark and no stamps found as it might well have been made in Italy.  read more

WW2 Cardiff Merchant Navy Casualty, SS-Empire Lake 1943. Sunk by U-181.

I purchase this group yesterday, after the family sold it to a local dealer, relating to a Cardiff man, Juan Rivas, who died during the sinking of the SS Empire Lake by U-181 in 1943, 250 miles east of Madagascar. Rivas was the ships Steward. As you see the group is complete with one anomaly using the British name John instead of Juan. There are only two Rivas on the CWGC website, one who was k...  read more

The Holler marked blade has some minimal staining only with some nice cross grain remaining and just a couple of minor knocks to the edge.
