2 X Socket Bayonet Candle Stick Conversions

What in my opinion is a fantastic set of candle sticks converted from two matching socket bayonets. Not sure what country they originated from but both have a series of number stamps, cannot find a maker or armoury stamps. Both have a hole drilled into the blade on the bend so they can be mounted, screwed, to a wall.

1941 Dated MK2 Factory Helmet. Battery Sumhelm.

Originally leaving the factory with a grey finish this MK2 helmet received another coat of greenish color with a factory decal placed on top. This second coat, i would say, remains at over 70% complete, the original factory finish more with the decal at 90% complete. Swiss Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Bayonet.

This would appear to be an untouched example still held in its leather frog. The blade has a dark finish from patina with an un-sharpened cutting edge, full tip and a clear makers stamp. Nice complete booklet to a Prussian soldier who fought on many of the main battles during WW1 in France and Belgium. Im sure there is plenty of research possibilities when being able to translate this book.  read more

WW2 Canadian Machete.

Nice to find a set that have always been together with a 1943 dated Canadian manufactured scabbard holding a 1940 dated US manufactured machete. As for condition i would class as a good well used set. The machete blade having some staining, not over sharpened on the cutting edge and a clear manufacture and date stamp. M1917 Bayonet Fighting Knife Conversion.

The bayonet was a WW1 Remington 1917 bayonet with the blade professionally ground into a sharp tipped fighting blade. The top rifle fixing ring has again been ground off and interestingly the grips have been replaced by two nice 1907 pattern bayonet grips.
