Scarce WW1 Dated Gurkha Issue MK2 Kukri. 1917 Dated.
Here we have a well used issue Mk2 Kukri with a clear maker and date stamp to one side of the blade. The just over 13 inch blade, total length of the kukri from end to end is 17 inches, has a good amount of staining with very little pitting, top spine has a few minor knocks. WW2 German K98 Leather Ammo Pouch.
Pouch is in used condition with wear to the high points, please see the discoloring to certain ares. The leather is still in supple condition with all stitching tight as are the rivets used to the back. The inside pouches have there animal sinew dividers. WW1 Death Plaque and Pair. 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots, Arras.
Plaque and pair relates to J.Burnett, service number 27787 who was killed on the 9th of April, 1917 , on the first day of the battle of Arras. He is buried at the Beaurains road cemetery. As for condition i would rate as very good with plenty of patina, death plaque appears to have been mounted at some point as the top and bottom have the remains of fixing pins in the edge. Late War German M31 Mess Tin.
Miss matched tin with just the slightest color difference to top and bottom. Top is stamped DMN-43 with no marks found on the bottom half as expected with the side wire brackets found of mate war examples. Color to both i would rate at over 95% with wear mainly to the bottom seen by the red enamel seen in areas of damage. The inside to both pieces can be seen the late war enamel finish. read more
