A very candid seven page letter sent to a Miss Humphries , Newport, on the 10th of April, 1915 by Signaller Gamson of the 1/6 South Staffs Regiment. Nice unmarked brass manufactured wound badge with a very dark toned front with some of its black finish showing through, especially to the background dot pattern. The rear has its period hardware. This is an example of whats called the ''no rivet'', notice the back of the helmet and does appear, to my eyes anyway, to resemble badges made by the firm Carl Poellath.  read more
