A very nice unit marked Wilkinson manufactured Martini Henry Bayonet and Leather Frog. The blade has minimal staining and one tiny water mark from the blade resting against the inside scabbard runner for such a long time. Scarce example fighting knife converted from a 1905 dated 03 pattern bayonet, The condition is very nice with the blade having no pitting and a very sharp point, clear markings to both sides. The cross guard and pommel have taken on a very nice dark finish matching the blade , top button works and both wooden slab grips are well used with bruising but no major damage. I have been a lucky boy as this is the second example ive managed to have aquired, the first now resides in a Cardiff museum. British 1856 Pattern Pioneer Sawback Side Arm/Sword.
A really nice untouched example with the blade having a good amount of staining but no pitting into the blade surface. The cutting edge has some minor sharpening looking to be period done. The blade on one side under the cross guard is stamped to the Wilkinson firm, London with month stamp ''2'' and date stamp ''00''. WW2 German Erel M34 ''Square Dip'' Gold Ranked Feuerschutzepolizei Helmet.
The shell has close to 100% of its black finish and free of dents or cracks. At one point the helmet had a tipped decal shield, now scraped off. The top comb has been colored gold denoting a particular rank. This example has had at least two coats of black finish, the last was applied by a brush, there might well have been decals at one point. Paint finish is nearly 100% complete, shell is dent free. Top comb again dent free with some minor loss of its chromed finsh. Boxed Imperial Bavarian Merenti Cross of Military Merit 3rd Class with Swords. Deschler.
This example is in very nice condition, may i say close to mint, with a very nice box named to the firm Deschler. The cross itself has 100% of its high gold gilt finish and a very nice clean ribbon. Not sure this one can be upgraded. read more
